This is the PAO lamps collection made by the Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The lamps ‘’PAO’’ is named after the traditional Mongolian ‘’Pao’’ tents. The design tries to accomplish an aesthetic of beautiful simplicity. This to create a product which draws on design values in the natural world. There is a certain harmony within the design and its environment. 

The lamp is made out of polycarbonate. This gives the lamp a smooth, high gloss finish. The light source is concealed inside the lamp. This gives an efficient, diffused downlight, with a warm homely glow. The portable lamp runs on batteries. This makes the lamp easy to use.
