A collaboration that could not be missed, having the same sustainable goal together, this collab could not be a better fit. Sporty & Rich and Clarks Originals come together to give the classic Wallabee silhouette a fresh look by creating 3 new color shades: Merlot, Cream Puff, and Robin’s Egg Blue. Adding a golden leather tag embellished with the Sporty & Rich logo to finish of the Wallabee.
Something that both Clarks Originals and the founder of Sporty & Rich Emily Oberg find very important is the theme sustainability. During this collaboration, they looked at the different materials used in the shoe to make it environment friendly. The leather, made at a tannery in Germany by the Heinen family, is what makes the shoe very unique and sustainable.
The Heinen family is working to make their energy consumption as efficient as possible in order to reduce their carbon consumption. A nice gesture of the Heinen family is that they compensate their CO2 which can not be reduced in their production by sponsoring the Kikonda project. This project plants trees in Uganda to prevent the depletion of forests. Finally, the sole, which is made of natural rubber, and the packaging, a box made of 90% recycled paper, complete the sustainable concept of both Clarks Originals and Sporty & Rich.
In these visuals Kat Klerks has been photographed in her atelier. Kat started making art three years ago. Atmospheric and warm artworks now adorn many interiors in the Netherlands and abroad. Amsterdam and especially the Jordaan is her home. Kat is a big Clarks Originals fan because of the product quality and sustainable philosophy. The color scheme of the Sporty & Rich collaboration falls right in line with her artwork and is therefore the perfect match.
